He served as Director of the Information Technology Department at the Bank of Sudan until his retirement. He has extensive experience in developing and managing IT strategies, IT governance, technology assessment and deployment, and software development in various institutions, including banks, non-profit organizations, private companies, and government entities. He was also responsible for managing the operations and activities of the Credit Information Agency of Sudan (CIASA), which serves all Sudanese banks and microfinance institutions.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Al Baraka Bank in Sudan as an independent Banking expert, and is also a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, and the Governance and Compliance Committee.

Mr. Gamal Abdelrahim has extensive experience in the technical and banking fields, with more than 30 years of experience in the banking sector.
